International Euro-brand, Louis Vuitton, continues in their efforts to monopolize the world of fashion by launching a recent flagship store in Sydney, Australia. Now, Louis is known for intermingling the wonderful word of art into their brand, but I must say, this recent collaboration with British artist, Billie Achilleo, has to be one of my favorites from the luxe brand.
Achilleo created a set of animals, native to the Aussie land, made entirely out of LV bags and accessories. I’m talking kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, and the like–all monogrammed and murakami’d up in the famous pattern we all know and love.
Talk about fashion having a collision with art. Achilleo saw to it; making sure detail was as important as the design itself. The label has worked with her before when earlier this year they collaborated to celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Louis Vuitton SLG Savoir Faire collection. For that, Achilleo created an armadillo, a grasshopper, a chameleon and a beaver.
Im all for artistry and yes I know that art is an investment, but sheesh, I wonder what the ticket was to complete this project. With LV bags starting easily at $1400, only to be ripped up and cut on!
Anyhow, check out all the clever constructions below:
