Bon Voyage::Tokyo, Japan

Bottom line………………Tokyo is off the chain.  If you’re a big-city fan like myslef you will get enough visual-stimuli here to last for years to come.  Tokyo is full of glowing, neon billboards, 3-story tall screens hanging on the sides of buildings with architectecture never before seen in the States.

I like to call it NYC times 20.  The city is an interesting collision of the old orient thats been stung by a metropolitan-bee, swelling to a world-city loved around the globe.  It’s not unusual to see centuries-old shrines abutting trendy designer boutiques and kimono-clad residents using the latest handheld technology.

Japan’s capital city vibrates with chaotic energy and its sidewalks are thick with pedestrians at all hours of the day.  It’s always crowded and constantly on the move.  Behind all the city’s shimmering glass skyscrapers lies majestic snow-capped Mount Fuji. These are just some of the reasons why we love Tokyo.

Other Tokyo Facts:

  • Population is 12,369,000
  • Literal Translation “eastern capital”
  • Consists of 23 special wards
  • Tokyo is home to the Japanese Imperial Family
  • Takes approx. 14 hours to fly there from the United States
