World renown singer Bono along with his wife, Fashion designer, Ali Hewson have combined efforts with fashion house extraordinaire, Louis Vuitton to help shed some light on the fashion-face of South Africa as well as to encourage trade with Africa.
The couple own the fashion line, Edun, an ethical brand the couple launched in 2005 and is co-owned by LV (they own 49%). The bag in this ad was designed by Hewson and proceeds from the bag will go to TechnoServe, a nongovernmental organization that fosters enterprise in the developing world; Conservation Cotton Initiative, which supports sustainable farming in Africa.
LV recently joined forces with Hewson’s label, Edun, to host the Africa Rising Vernissage Party where African singer Angelique Kidjo as well as Bono took to the stage. Fashion Designer, Margherita Missoni and Supermodel Naomi Campbell were also on deck enjoying the festivities.
While in town, Bono also shot a new LV campaign along with Hewson. Famed Photographer Annie Leibovitz was the genious behind this travel-themed ad.
