TELEVISION::Paula Abdul Is Back With Her Show ‘Live To Dance’

Yeah, she left American Idol after 8 seasons in what many would say was one of her most foolish career moves; however, Paula is back and she’s literally danced her way back on national television with the debut of her new dance reality show, Live to Dance, that airs on CBS tonight, Tuesday, January 4, 2010 at 8p EST.

The show will encompass all styles of dance: ballet, break dance, hip hop, tap, tango and anything that falls in between. Performers of all ages are welcome to compete as a group or as a solo act–for the end result of winning $500,000!

The series opens with a two hour debut in typical talent-show format: dancers auditioning across the country to land a coveted spot on the show by shaking their shimmy for Paula and her panel of experts that include choreographer Travis Payne and Kimberly Wyatt, formerly of the Pussycat Dolls. 18 dance acts will be chosen from the estimated 10,000 hopefuls and then they will compete in the live episodes.

Abdul explains:

“To present the best new dance talent to American audiences. Each and every week, we’ll showcase the challenges and successes of a fantastic group of dancers as they perform and compete. Compelling stories, exciting competition and amazing dance performances are guaranteed.”
