Whitney Houston Has Died at 48 updates

Days ago tabloids were abuzz over news that former Pop Queen Whitney Houston was having thoughts of suicide. I brushed it off as another cry for attention that many of the popular celebrity blogs seem to enjoy; however, news is just now breaking that the former VOICE of American Pop Music has, indeed, died at the age of 48.

CNN is reporting as of press time that the ‘I will always love you’ diva has passed. The cause if death is suspected to be from a drug overdose, but of course, we wont know until the autopsy reports are made public.

Rumors and worries started swirling after Houston performed at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Madison Square Garden on Friday looking gaunt and frail. She was also seen in LA at a Beverly Hills grammy party hosted by singer Kelly Price and party goers say she seemed to be in good spirits. CNN entertainment corespondent Nischelle Turner, who was at the party confirms she also saw her in good spirits.

Whitney’s rep, Kristin Foster, has confirmed her death, but we have few details, but it is being reported that Whitney was found at the Beverly Hilton Hotel by Ray J, who she has publicly been seen around L.A. with over the last couple of weeks.

Houston, who in recent times, has seemed to be in good health and in a happy season in life. She’d just finished a musical film, Sparkle, that will hit theatres soon, and she seemed to be on the comeback–then this.

My prayers are with Bobbi Kristina, who is currently in Los Angeles, who, per her father, Bobby Brown, who’s in Memphis along with Johnny Gil (for a show) is not doing to well.

Whitney was pronounced dead at 6:55pm EST. There were no signs of criminal intent, but it is being investigated by the Beverly Hills Police Department at this time, per the hotel management’s press release.

Interesting details are sure to follow.

**UPDATE** It was confirmed that Ray J was NOT with Whitney when she died, it was a bodyguard, who is coincidentally also named Ray.

**UPDATE** Per TMZ, Bobbi Kristina showed up on the 4th floor of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the floor her mother died on, and attempted to see her mothers body. She was denied access by authorities and she got into a screaming/cursing match with the police in an attempt to see her mother. She lost the battle and was turned away. Whitney’s cousin, Dionne Warwick, also showed up at the hotel attempting to get inside the room and she too, was denied access. There were some other relatives who were with Whitney when she died and they have confirmed her death for police.
